Privacy policy
This policy explains what we collect when you use CompareSEO Bristol, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
CompareSEO Bristol is an independent directory of SEO agencies operating in and around Bristol. We are the data controller for the information described below. To contact us about privacy, use the form on our for agencies page.
What we collect
When you submit the quote form we collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and business name, along with the service you need, your budget band, any message you write, and the page you submitted from. When you contact us about a listing we collect your agency name, website, email address and message.
We do not collect special category data, and we ask you not to include any in the message field. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use your quote request to match you with up to three SEO agencies and to pass your details to them so they can contact you with a quote. Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form, and we act on your request as a step towards a contract you asked for.
We use listing enquiries to correct or update the directory. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, specifically keeping the directory accurate.
Who we share it with
Quote requests are shared with the agencies we match you to, and only those agencies. Each of them becomes an independent controller of your details once we pass them on, so their own privacy policy applies to what they do next. We never sell your details, and we do not share them with anyone else for marketing.
Our site is hosted by Netlify, which processes form submissions on our behalf and stores them for us. Netlify may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are kept for twelve months so we can resolve any query about a match, then deleted. Listing enquiries are kept for as long as the listing exists, plus twelve months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time, though that does not affect anything done before you withdrew it. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling their helpline.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. These are covered separately in our cookie policy.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and change the date at the top.
